Do Christians fight?

on June 22, 2006

So someone asked this on another friend’s LJ, but it fits with what I was thinking about Ned Flanders yesterday.

The reason I was asking about Ned: it’s interesting that he is basically the main “Christian” character in the Simpsons, and he’s not portrayed in a bad light really. Yes he’s naive and lets people walk all over him, but he isn’t portrayed as being at all judgemental (or rarely). In fact… he’s very like what the church currently teaches men they should be like.

Nice guys.

What he’s not very like is any of the men in the New Testament, Jesus included. None of them let themselves be walked over.

So do Christians fight back in bad situations? Should they? How?

(I’ve got more thoughts of my own but you guys start off).
