100 Happy Days - day 12

Rhubarb, apple and custard. I have been looking forward to the rhubarb season and it seems to have come late this year.
Today Nutmeg and I went to Froglet’s school to see the chicks they have been hatching out. There are nine but I forgot to take my camera. Nutmeg was really good with them, she stayed very still and quiet and just watched, and the chicks weren’t scared of us, and ran about and peeped happily to each other. Then Froglet’s classmates came over and started lunging at them (not Froglet, I hasten to add, I’ve taught him to be slow and gentle with animals). The poor little chicks were so frightened. Still, they’re going back to their farms of origin today so then they will be safe from large scary children!
